Paris is always a good idea

Paris: the political, economic, religious, and cultural capital of France in the 12th century. The center stage of the French Revolution on the 14th of July. The city where major peace treaties were prepared at the Paris Peace Conference in the 19th century.

But we all know Paris as the city of love. The city where you can visit the Eiffel Tower, the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Louvre museum where the Mona Lisa is exhibited, the Basilique du Sacré-Cœur, the Arc de Triomphe and the shops on the Champs-Élysées. Paris does not only have many historical monuments to visit but is also full of cafes and restaurants that offer you many different kinds of food. So, how do you spend just two days in a city where there is so much to see?! You make choices, this is what we chose to do:

Day 1

We arrived by car in Paris, from Rotterdam to Paris is just a four and a half hour drive (if you are lucky and not stuck on the Périphérique). We dropped our stuff off at our hotel (Idéal Hôtel Design) that was just outside the center of Paris. With the underground, we traveled to the Eiffel Tower and then walked to Palais de Chaillot. Palais de Chaillot is just across from the Eiffel Tower, so the perfect place to take pictures. We walked some more to the Arc de Triomphe and shopped on the Champs-Élysées. Almost at the end of the Champs-Élysées, we were so hungry that we decided to eat dinner. The Champs-Élysées goes by the Grand Palais and Place de la Concorde. The Champs-Élysées ends just before the gardens of the Louvre begins and because our next day would be quite active in Disneyland, we decided to go back to our hotel.

Day 2

The alarm went off way too early but we were in Disneyland at 10 AM. We parked the car and enjoyed our day at Disney. We went on all the rides, ate way too much food, saw the parade, the fireworks and bought many souvenirs to take home. At the end of the day, we were incredibly tired but really satisfied with the experience. For some tips regarding visiting Disney, click here!

Day 3

We slept in a little bit and ate breakfast in the hotel. After checking out we went to the Notre Dame Cathedral and walked around on the island. It was so crowded that we decided to not go inside so we headed to the Louvre museum. We ate lunch just outside the ground of the museum and then took the underground to the Catacombs of Paris.
