Vienna
A girlfriend and I decided to plan a city trip at the last minute. So we booked flight tickets and a hotel and packed our bags for Vienna or “Wien”. Vienna is the capital of Austria and is unbelievable. It has culture, Opera, art and stunning architecture.
The flight with Austrain Air was nice and after asking we found the way to our hotel. May I say that my friend needed to carry her suitcase because the handle was broken, which resulted in funny situations and strange faces from the people around us.
Our hotel was just behind the main shopping street so no noise but just close enough for when we went out. The shopping district is a newer part of Vienna in contrast to the historic centre of Vienna that has been UNESCO World Heritage Listed, because of its unique insight into imperialism throughout the various empires.
When I think about Vienna I think about the Sissi movies I saw when I was younger. Because of these memories Vienna Hofburgh was on top of my to do list, together with the opera. We also decided to see the Schloss Schönbrunn and visit the Prater, a ferris wheel that gives you a view all over Vienna. The “Hundertwasserhaus’ an apartment house in Vienna, was also a stop. We also walked through the historical center and the Vienna Naschmarkt.
