Relax in Langkawi
Langkawi is one of the many beautiful islands of Malaysia. It’s easy to reach and perfect for a few days of relaxing combined with some exploring of the island.
We travelled from Penang to Langkawi by ferry, this is the cheapest way. There are also flights that go directly from one island to another. But why not try what some locals do frequently and go by ferry? After three hours on a ferry with people throwing up left and right to us, we decided that we have a lot of respect for the locals but we would not do this for fun.
Our own nausea was gone by the time we arrived at the resort so we enjoyed some lunch. The rest of our stay could be described in one word: relaxing. The island is not only recognized for its relaxed atmosphere but also for its duty-free shopping, the beaches, and diving opportunities.
What to do?
We spent a lot of time in the pool at The Ocean Residence Langkawi and switched it up with relaxing at Cenang Beach. We enjoyed the sun, at some burgers at one of the beach clubs and watched the sunset at the end of the day.

Cable car
One of the biggest attractions of the island is the Cable Car/ Langkawi Skybridge. This attraction is definitely worth its money because the views are out of this world!

Seven Wells
From the entrance of the cable car, it is around a 15/20 min walk to the beginning of the trail that leads to the Seven Wells. Tip; take swimwear with you. We needed it after all the steps upward to the cool water but didn’t have anything with us. Not that it stopped us from jumping in!

If you are planning to shop, Langkawi is the place to be. Duty-free chocolates, alcohol, and cigarettes can be bought in almost every street. Langkawi also has some night markets and a variety of small shops and malls.
